My role at Geneva Business School (GBS) involved coordinating content creation with the central marketing team, but the execution was defined by a commitment to high technical quality, essential for representing an academic institution. This approach turned simple social media videos and event coverage into professional visual assets.
The Production Setup: A Strategic Gear Choice
To meet the diverse demands - from dynamic social media clips to professional event coverage - we utilized a tailored, high-end equipment strategy:
Lighting and Portraiture: All photos, particularly the professional LinkedIn profile pictures provided to students, were captured using dedicated studio lights. This ensured consistent, high-resolution, and perfectly lit imagery that reflected the professional standard of the institution.
Dual-Camera Video Production: We employed a strategic two-camera approach for video capture:
The Fujifilm TX4 with an 18-55mm lens was the main workhorse for wide, establishing shots. This combination was perfect for capturing the broad context of campus life and ensuring creative, open compositions for social media Reels.
The Canon R6 Mark II paired with a 70-200mm lens allowed for precision. This setup was crucial for tight, focused shots, isolating conference speakers during presentations, and creating dramatic, cinematic close-ups.
Audio and Stabilization: Clear sound and smooth movement were non-negotiable. DJI wireless microphones were used on the speakers/talent to ensure high-quality voice capture for clean post-production editing. For dynamic tracking shots and professional movement, the Ronin RS4 gimbal provided necessary stabilization.
This meticulous workflow ensured that all content, from creative student-focused Reels to formalized conference videos, was visually superior and technically flawless, elevating the GBS brand image and providing tangible career assets to the student body.
Student Life: Dynamic Sports Event Coverage
My content production extended beyond the academic sphere to capture the vibrant student life, specifically documenting the sports events and tournaments organized by student clubs.
This required a rapid shift in technique, moving from the structured environment of conference rooms to fast-paced, high-energy settings. My focus was on producing dynamic photography and short video clips that captured the spirit of competition and community. This content served a vital marketing function by showcasing the engaging, comprehensive student experience at GBS, providing authentic and energetic material for recruitment across all social media channels.
